A rare opportunity for a trainer in childcare and functional skills (key skills)

This is a fantastic role for someone looking to deliver quality assessment for all staff enrolled on the NVQ programme within this forward thinking company, and enabling candidates to achieve a meaningful qualification of a high standard.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating an NVQ programme covering 3 nurseries in south London/ Surrey region and to be involved in the development of initiatives which impact on this programme. You will be required to work from a London based office on some occasions to support the delivery of the functional skills program and act as the lead trainer for the functional skills.

The suitable person for the role must:

  • Have post qualifying experience in the role of senior nursery practitioner/member of management in a children’s day nursery setting
  • Proven knowledge and ability in all aspects relating to quality early years care and education

Education and Training

  • Minimum NNEB/NVQ3 in Early Years Care and Education
  • Minimum A1 Assessors award or a recognised training qualification

  • To demonstrate good communication and mentoring skills
  • Computer literate
  • Good organisation and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate creative initiative and ability
  • To work autonomously and in a team

Main Duties

  • To work with Tutors and Assessors from the company’s Academy

to ensure that candidates progress and enjoy the highest level of support.

  • To guide support and mentor candidates who are enrolled on the NVQ programme.
  • To arrange and ensure that placement opportunities are available for all candidates.
  • To implement and maintain all Academy Policies and Procedures.
  • To liaise relevant awarding bodies (where necessary) to ensure registration and certification requirements are fulfilled.
  • To arrange or attend regular meetings with candidates/quality development department and relevant employees from the Academy.
  • To identify candidates training requirements in conjunction with the Nursery Management
  • To ensure that information and guidance on assessment, equal opportunities and quality assurance is provide for all candidates and assessors.
  • To monitor and record the progress of all candidates.
  • To support the Quality Development Manager in the delivery of some workshops to support the high standards of quality required of Academy.
  • To keep abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends specifically related to the relevant national early years curriculum/framework.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication links with all nursery staff.
  • To promote and champion the Company’s high standards of care and education.
  • To deliver the Key skills programs
  • To ensure confidentiality of information received.
