Live in nanny required for a lovely family with children aged 2 and 6. They also have a 15 years old and an 18 years old but they don’t need looking after so main responsibility will be the two younger ones. Duties: help the 6 year old with homework; General care of both children (mother is very hands on); Occasionally prepare meals for the children; Assist with ironing of the children’s clothes; Play actively with the children (both are very active and sporty); Maintain discipline (firm but fair as the children are active and playful); Babysitting in the evenings and occasionally at weekends; The position will require the nanny to travel with the family who spend a large amount of the summer at their house in Mexico as well as travelling on family holidays (mainly in Europe) throughout the rest of the year. The nanny must speak excellent English to help with homework. Spanish or French language would be a bonus but not essential. The ideal candidate should be loving, playful, artistic, sporty, energetic, fun loving and cheerful, firm but fair, work well in a team (other staff include housekeeper/chef, driver and cleaner) and must have the ability to tutor and support with academic work.The position is full time and live in based in London. The hours required are Monday-Friday 7am to 9.30 and then again from 12pm-9pm however during the week the nanny would also be required to be on call 24 hours with weekends totally free (apart from the occasional one). This is so the parents can be free to go out as and when they choose to and would like the nanny to be available in the house overnight for the week days. Other duties required will be normal nanny duties(however there are other staff employed to do cleaning/cooking but nanny must be able to muck in)and there will be quite a bit of travel involved throughout the year.They are a really lovely close knit family and all their staff stay for years and also become part of the family! The mum is very hands on and I don’t think they ever have had a full time nanny that I know of they often have an au pair type girl to help on and off as the mum is very hands on. Therefore it will be shared care but they will also need the person to be able to take sole charge whenever necessary when the parents go out etc. They are very much a multi national family and I think 2 of the languages I mentioned would be a huge bonus. This should be a really nice job for a well rounded, fun, easy going but dedicated nanny.
