Special Needs Teacher – Severe Learning Difficulties

A Special Needs School servicing students in North London is looking for a teacher to support KS1- KS4 students.
The position will be teaching children with Severe Learning Difficulties; initially for the rest of this term with a view to continue for the remainder of the academic year. Ideal Candidates will be enthusiastic, experienced with strong behaviour management skills and the appropriate teaching qualifications.
Responsibilities include the following:
• Significant intellectual or cognitive impairments which effect on individual abilities to participate in the school curriculum without support.
• Difficulties in mobility and co-ordination, communication and perception and the acquisition of self-help skills.
• Teach in all areas of the curriculum
• Teaching life skills
• PECS, Makaton and BSL qualified, very useful but not essential.
