Managing and supporting a small residential unit for 2-3 young people aged 10-18 years of age with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Managing and established staff team of 9 staff members in a friendly and motivated environment. As the manager you will be required to work 37 hours per week but have the flexibility to work additional hours if the service requires it. As the manager your main responsibilities will include – staff development and training, ensuring confidentiality is upheld, maintaining effective relationships with staff, and ensuring the health and safety and the welfare of others.

The succesful candidate must provide leadership and management for the residential provision safeguarding and promoting the well being of children and young people and supporting them to enable their potential. You must have proven people management skils and the proven ability to performance and quality manage. You must be qualified to NVQ4 in Social Care or equivalent and be expected to achieve your NVQ4 Management qualification or Registered Managers award within your first 18 months. The post is reliant on becoming a Registered Manager with Ofsted so you will need to demonstrate you are a ‘fit person’ through the registration and interview process. The post holder will be required to have had a minimum of 3 years management experience within the past 5 years and one of them must be at a senior level within childrens residential services. The role will include some evening, sleepins and weekend duties where necessary.
