Hays Early Years are currently working with a number of Primary Schools in the Stockport area to recruit Early Years Specialists to work as Teaching Assistants in the Foundation Stage on an ongoing TEMPORARY basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be supporting the Class Teacher, assisting with the organisation and preparation of classroom resources in accordance with lesson plans and assisting pupils in their use. You will be expected to maintain pupil records and gather information as required. The promotion of good pupil behaviour is essential, dealing with incidents in line with the school’s policies and reporting difficulties as appropriate. Supporting the needs of pupils is essential for this role. You will be expected to provide 1:1 support for pupils where necessary; promoting self-esteem, encouraging pupils to act independently and support academic and personal development. The promotion of inclusion in line with the Every Child Matters Agenda is extremely important as well as the ability to establish good relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

SKILLS NEEDED:
- An Early Years Qualification to Level 3 or equivalent is ESSENTIAL
- Applicants must be immediately available
- 6 months experience of working in a school environment is desirable
- Good Numeracy and Literacy Skills
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- Work constructively as part of a team
- Working alongside children with SEN/behavioural difficulties is desirable
