Early Years Learning Support Assistant, Lewisham, London
We are currently recruiting for a mainstream primary school in Lewisham who require an experienced early years learning support/teaching assistant to support children in the reception class within the EYFS. You will be responsible for two specific children who require additional assistance due to special educational needs and learning difficulties (language and communication) and will require 1:1 support.
You should be passionate about working with early years and have a patient, caring and supportive manner with the children. The school is looking for somebody who has strong behaviour management skills and is able to support child development by creating individual learning plans in accordance to each child’s interest and requirement. You will also be responsible for monitoring children’s development through regular observations and report writing.
You must have strong communication skills and be able to build rapports easily as regular contact between the school and parents is vital to ensure a consistent approach for the children.

Essential:
- Have a minimum of 3 months experience within the last two years supporting children with special educational needs in a school based environment
- Have excellent communication/language skills
- Strong behaviour management
Desirable:
- Early years qualification (Level 3 Early years, NNEB or equivalent)
