This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nursery Nurse to work as part of a small homely nursery local to Canary Wharf.

The position will be working as part of a new nursery that is growing very quickly and they are now looking for an additional member of staff to work with the 2-5 years.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, forward thinking, have a good command of the English language and eager to progress with a career within Childcare.

The position available will be working from 8am until 12noon, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks of the year.

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Have experience of working with children within a Early Years setting.

Team Leader

Team Leader

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to work as part of lovely nursery located on the outskirts of Cambridge city centre.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a 60 place nursery that takes pride of their strong team of practitioners that practise a strong foundation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting and nurturing individual children progressing towards their next steps working, in partnership with parents on a daily basis.

The position is offered as full time, working 40 hours per week.

The successful candidate will work closely with Nursery Manager and Deputy to ensure the effective daily management of the nursery, whist being room based. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your own team.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • You should hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent (An NVQ level 4 or a Degree is desirable).
  • Minimum of two years qualified experience.
  • You should be a role model practitioner with the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Ofsted Standards and the EYFS.
  • Be able to communicate effectively on best practice of care and education to both staff and parents and have good customer care skills.
  • You should have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as take part in the wider Nursery team.
  • Be able to assume management responsibility for the nursery when the Deputy Manager steps up or is absent.
  • You should be willing to be involved in a wide variety of tasks across the nursery, for example: recruitment, promoting inclusive practice, mentoring staff, teambuilding, assisting to deal with parent issues, conducting show rounds, etc…
  • The successful candidate will want to help develop others, as well as themselves.

Nursery Manger – Wembley

Our setting is a very modern purpose built 90-place private day nursery for children aged 4 months to 5 years open 8am to 6pm Mon-Fri.

Your role will include the following:

  • To maintain a good knowledge of child development and to keep up-to-date with the latest childcare policies and practices through training.
  • To share your knowledge and skills with other staff. To take responsibility for your training needs and to liase with the Operations Manager and Managing Director.
  • To be responsible for the management of the nursery in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • To plan and organise cover for staff holidays, sickness, and absenteeism in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • To meet and welcome prospective parents and children. To be responsible for show rounds, allocation of places, organisation of keyworker and phasing in timetable.
  • To oversee the planning, preparationg and evaluation of the children’s curriculum, activities and outings. To monitor these at all times and to ensure each activity is age appropriate.
  • To monitor child ratios and ensure that staff are aware of the numbers of children they are caring for at any one time.
  • To familiarise yourself with all relevant budgets (equipment, food, etc.) and to ensure that these are strictly adhered to and properly monitored. All expenses are to be cleared by management prior to expenditure.

Required Skills: Very good organisational and team building skills; Strong leadership style; Commercial awareness; Ability to identify and solve problems; Well-presented and well-spoken; very high levels of IT literacy; Good all-round knowledge of the day-to-day running of a childcare centre; Excellent interpersonal skills.

Required Experience: 2 – 6 years previous experience as a nursery manager.
