This is an excellent opportunity for a Nursery Manager in the Northwich area. The nursery offers an excellent service of education and care for the children of the local community. It is a vibrant and modern setting which focuses on offering a quality education provision for ages 0-5 years, for between 50 – 60 children.
We are currently looking to appoint an Early Years Professional to lead and further develop the existing nursery team. The nursery strongly believes in good teamwork and rely on this as one of the main reasons for it’s success.
You will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the nursery including staff, resource, client and delivery management. In addition to the day-to-day running of the main nursery setting, you will also be required to oversee two After-School clubs, which are based at the near-by primary schools.
Working in close conjunction with these primary schools in a rural area, this nursery is very much at the heart of the community and thus maintains an excellent reputation. This is an ideal career move for someone who already has nursery management experience and who feels ready to take on the challenge of working in a slightly larger setting, across several sites.
This is a full time position to start as soon as possible.
Main Responsibilities:
To ensure that the highest standard of physical, social, emotional and intellectual care is offered to all the children attending the nursery
To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the facility and the health, safety and well-being of the children attending the nursery
To monitor the budget allocated to the nursery and to be responsible for the correct invoicing for fees
To ensure that all regulations relevant to the care and education of children are adhered to
To liaise with parents, particularly in relation to the needs and development of the children
To be responsible for developing good quality all-round child care provision
To ensure the effective planning, preparation and delivery of activities for the children who attend the nursery
To establish and develop appropriate recording and monitoring systems for nursery records, ensuring that these are fully compliant with legislative and best practice guidance
To ensure that children’s records are kept accurately, securely and updated regularly
To ensure that the Nursery remains a pleasant and stimulating environment
To oversee the upkeep of nursery premises and the maintenance of furnishings and equipment
To ensure that the dietary needs of each child are met through the catering contract arrangements and that any special diets are catered for
To establish an effective and productive liaison with outside networks and agencies in order to enhance the service offered by the Nursery
To line manage all nursery staff and encourage the development of positive teamwork
To be responsible for the appraisal of all nursery staff and the identification of training and development needs
The following skills and qualifications are essential to this role:
Minimum NVQ Level 3 NN qualification as well as Early Years Professional Status
You will ideally be educated to degree level and have a First Aid Qualification and Food Hygiene Certificate
Experience working in a managerial role is essential, ideally across several sites
Recent and solid nursery management experience, with good references
Excellent understanding of the EYFS
A background in managing budgets and producing spreadsheets
Must be able to work effectively and positively motivate others
Must be able to communicate effectively with both children and adults
Personable, dedicated and dynamic, with the ability to differentiate between friendship and leadership when managing other staff members
