This is a fantastic role for a Head of nursery to lead a team of experienced childcare professionals.
As the Nursery Head you will be responsible in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running and administration of the nursery, provide a safe and caring environment for the children in the nursery’s care, to ensure that activities planned for the children are appropriate and cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will need to manage all aspects of the nursery and ensure all tasks carried out adherence to policies and procedures of the Nursery and in compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, Ofsted requirements and regulations, and any other guidelines which protect children’s welfare.
Educational/Qualifications
Essential:
- EYFS qualification to at least Level 3.
- Excellent standard of general education
Desirable:
- PGCE/EYPS – or working towards same
- First Aid Qualification,
- Food Hygiene Qualification
Experience and Achievements (including voluntary work)
Essential:
- Several years relevant experience (with nursery management experience)
- Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills
- Supervisory experience
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Ability to plan appropriate activities and to deal effectively with concerns or changes
- Willingness to up-date childcare knowledge regularly by attending training sessions
- Knowledge of the Children’s Act and Safeguarding Children procedures
- Office organisation and computer skills.
Desirable:
- SENCO trained,
- Behaviour management
- Fluency in other languages
- Fundraising Skills
