24/6 Maternity Nurse in Brighton (July 2010)

24/6 live in maternity nurse is needed for a 6 weeks old baby (due 9th May)

the mum will be at home on her own with the baby and also 2 and half year old girl (who goes to nursery 3 days per week) – additional help with the girl would be very much appreciated

there are no pets within the household, driver would be helpful but is not essential

the mother will not have any additional help from family, therefore every help provided from the nurse will be highly appreciated – she is looking for fun, down to earth, friendly and easy going nurse with plenty of experience

this is a 24/6 live in position to start at the beginning of July 2010 (date to be confirmed but around the 1st July) for approx 3,5 weeks (again, this is to be confirmed soon)

Aspergers Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in the Stockport area. The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will work on a one to one basis with a year 8 pupil who has Aspergers. You will be supporting the pupil in all core subjects, therefore a good understanding of English, Maths and Science is essential. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your job is to enhance and enrich the learning of the pupil in your care. You will work hard to ensure the pupil is constantly engaged with an overall aim of improving their behaviour and their subject knowledge. You will ensure the pupil stays on task with all work and where required challenge them to deliver when they are struggling. The ability to communicate clearly is essential, as is the need to explain the process behind problem solving in subjects without necessarily giving answers. The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant must also be committed as Aspergers pupils rely on a set routine. We are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who not only has recent and relevant experience but who has good knowledge and understanding of what it takes to work with challenging Special Needs pupils. It is imperative that the successful Special Needs teaching assistant is patient and caring and a qualification from the Special Needs Teaching Assistant arena would be highly desirable (such as NVQ level 2 or 3) Graduates of Special Needs based courses are also highly sought after.

Mum is very hands on and is looking for someone who will work in partnership with her. The family would like someone who is very stimulating, fun, good at creating activities, flexible and must be able to swim. The nanny will be required to work 6 days a week. The household is staffed so the duties will be predominantly childcare related including keeping the children’s clothes neat and tidy and preparing healthy snacks. You will be required to get the children up in the morning, take them swimming, take them to the clubhouse to play and find activities for them to do. The family are from New York so you will fly alone to Egypt and meet with them at the villa.
