This position is for a live out Nanny based in Barnet, London working Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm. This busy family require a high experienced nanny that can look after their 1year baby. The ideal candidate will be reliable, calm under pressure and build a warm and loving relationship with the child and be prepared to carry out all general nanny duties and housekeeping duties. The preferred candidate should have experience in childcare of a young baby and be OFSTED registered but is not essential. Salary negotiable.

the family has recently relocated to London and the children go to nursery 3 days per week (currently Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but this can be changed), the mother needs extra help on the 2 days they are at home as she has got some health problems

this is a mix of sole charge and shared care role, childcare only (cleaner is employed), no pets, no travel, no driving needed

ideally the days would be Monday and Friday 8am-7pm and 1 or 2 evenings per week 5-8pm (can be flexible on the days and hours)

the total amount of hours per week would be between 25 and 28

the family is looking for reliable and loving nanny with good experience and fluent English

Helping children to learn number skills through activities like counting games

Reading stories and providing other activities to develop language skills

Taking children on outings

Helping children to learn skills such as dressing and using cutlery

Feeding, bathing and changing babies

Observing children and writing reports on their progress

Being aware of health and safety and making sure children are safe

Sharing information on children’s’ development with their parents

Reporting any concerns such as signs of abuse

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
  • Overseeing the planning and implementation of the EYFS curriculum across all age groups
  • With the manager to effectively lead and manage the staff team including recruitment and retention, providing day to day guidance, training and support to all staff
  • To keep abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends specifically related to the relevant curriculum
  • To ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times
  • To implement an effective parent liaison programme, to be influential in developing strong links with parents.

You will ideally need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • NNEB, CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Post-qualification experience and supervisory experience
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience of OFSTED standards and EYFS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities.
