This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Room Leader looking to take their first step in management or a Deputy Manager simply looking for a fresh challenge for the new year.

The Nursery itself is a well run, 30 place setting which boasts great facilities and easy transport links.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, staff and other visitors of the nursery
  • To work with the Nursery Manager to deliver the financial budget for the nursery
  • To recruit, manage and develop a competent and effective staff team and play a key part in retaining them
  • To take full responsibility of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager
    • Key responsibilities:
  • To manage and monitor the nursery care and education through playing an active role in the day to day activities and planning in the nursery ensuring childcare knowledge is kept up to date by attending regular training and meetings
  • To demonstrate a sound understanding and knowledge of standards regulated by Ofsted and show the ability to make judgements on nursery performance in these areas
  • To work closely alongside the Health and Safety Coordinator ensuring the nursery environment is safe at all times
  • To market the nursery through regular open days, local community initiatives, updating websites, devising
  • To liaise with other professionals on a regular basis both internal and external to the company
  • To build positive relationships with parents ensuring regular meetings & communications are held.
  • Manage parent’s complaints effectively taking all complaints seriously and recording in accordance with company procedure.
  • Be available and approachable to staff at all times, leading by example and mentoring as necessary
  • Ensure staff have a sound understanding & working practice of all policies and procedures
  • To ensure that a safe, clean, stimulating and well resourced environment is on offer to the children at all times

Lunch Club Supervisor – Stoke Newington

This friendly playgroup are looking for a Lunch Club Supervisor to work from 11.30am-1.30pm each day and for an extra hour one day a week – a total of 11 hours a week.

Your duties will include:

  • To ensure that the lunch area is set up safely and appropriately
  • To tidy away at the end of the session and to ensure that the kitchen and other areas are clean and tidy ensuring that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times
  • To carry out daily risk assessments
  • To supervise children during their lunch break
  • To liaise closely with the playgroup leader on the management of the lunch club
  • To ensure that children are given appropriate opportunities for rest and relaxation during the lunch club
  • To advise the playgroup leader of any concerns e/g/ over children, child protection, parents/carers or the safety of equipment preserving confidentiality as necessary
  • To be aware of any special needs a child may have and to make adjustments as necessary
  • To attend staff meetings
  • To attend in service training courses as required
  • To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is acquired as part of the job
  • To keep up to date with current good practice
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the play leader in accordance with the playgroup business plan and objectives

You must hold a level 3 in childcare and a food & hygiene certificate.

They are successful candidate will have experience working with young children and strong and solid commitment to young children and families & an friendly, flexible approach.

This post is for 11 hours per week, term time only with 4.7 week paid holiday. The role is due to start in September.

Daily Child Friendly Housekeeper

Friendly and informal family French/Arabian in S. Kensington require a warm and capable Housekeeper to help care for their children of 6,4,&2 yrs. Duties include upkeep of their large 4 bed/3 bath apartment on one level, family laundry and cooking. There is also some childcare working with a daily Nanny who will have overall responsibility for this. Travel with the family to their full staffed second home in Marrakech and to Tunisia on a fairly regular basis but only for 1-2 weeks at a time. This travel can be undertaken in a team arrangement with their Nanny as both are not always required at the same time. Excellent English ess. French adv. Would suit European or British Passport holder.
Salary £450 npw.
