Community Nursery Nurse

Community Nursery Nurse VACANCY to start ASAP

Great opportunity for qualified Nursery Nurse looking for something a bit different.

This is a job for a Community Nursery Nurse in Camden, working as part of the Health Visiting Team. They are looking for a NNEB or NVQ Level 3 trained Nursery Nurse to start ASAP for 4 to 12 weeks. The Nursery Nurse could work from 9-5pm or 9.30-5.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break, 5 days a week. The Nursery Nurse will support health visitors and community nurses, and you will also be required to go on visits.

You will be working as part of a local initiative to help monitor and assess children’s development. You will be liaising with families in Camden who have children aged between 2 – 3 years of age, carrying out home visits and assessing their develops.

This is a varied and interesting job for someone who is looking for a new challenge and to get out of the ‘classroom’. You will be working as part of a close and supportive team of health workers who are keen to make developments within the local community.

The suitable candidate will have:

  • An NNEB/ Level 3 Qualified Nursery Nurse
  • A solid understanding of the EYFS
  • A solid understanding of the NHS, although not essential it would be desirable if you had experience
  • A proactive and positive attitude to work
  • A background working with different agencies

The job is initially working through the agency. Annual salary between £14,000 – £16,000.
Flexible / part-time working hours possible.

This job is office based. You will be expected to research and write up reports and assessments on the computer. ICT skills are essential. Training is provided and there is an extensive period of support.

Responsibilities:

Overall management responsibility for the Day Nursery in the absence of the Manager

Assist the Manager in providing effective day to day management of the Nursery

Attend monthly staff meetings and training sessions outside working hours

You should hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification with previous experience of working within a day Nursery at a senior level setting. Candidates must have a good knowledge of Birth to Three matters and the Foundation Stage Framework. Applicants with knowledge of the new EYFS are desired.
