Higher Level Teaching Assistant – NVQ 4 / HLTA Cert

Hays Education, are currently looking for qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistants for a number of both Primary schools throughout the Hull and East Riding area.

You will primarily be responsible for:

  • Covering full classes across all subject areas in Key Stage One and Two both with and without the aide of lesson plans
  • Providing 1:1 support with struggling pupils or working separately from the class with small groups
  • Supporting the class teacher in the educational and social development of the children
  • Assisting the classroom teacher in preparing and implementing lessons.

It is essential that you have an NVQ level 4 qualification with a Higher Level Teaching Assistant status.
You will also need excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with, a patient and positive attitude towards the educational and social development of secondary pupils.

The right candidate is committed to early years practice and believes that child care and education is best delivered when it is child-led and child focused.

The right candidate will want to be hands on with children aged 4 months to 4 years and is highly attentive to all the children’s developmental needs and is able to effectively implement the setting’s policies and procedures.

A high level of written and spoken English is essential.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week on a shift-based rota: 10hr shifts, 4 days per week. Paid 1 hour lunch break. The nursery is open from 7am to 7pm.

Qualifications and experience needed: NNEB, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Graduates welcome. Montessori qualifications / experience is a bonus.

Training provided: Regular training offered, both in house and external. EYPS pathways supported. Opportunities for learning more about the Montessori method.
