Assistant Early Years Practitioner – Hounslow

The position is on a full-time permanent basis, with the nursery open between 9am & 6pm, Monday to Friday, for children aged 0 to 5 years old.

The Nursery is set up in one main playroom, which allows all age groups to interact together. The purpose built room has toys and activities to stimulate the children’s curiosity and a desire to learn.

The ideal candidate for the position must be:

  • Level 2 childcare qualified (ESSENTIAL)

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure all policies, procedures and legislative requirements are maintained to comply with legal regulations and Group standards
  • Help support and maintain an effective Key Worker system in order to provide a nurturing, consistent and caring environment
  • Ensure the safety, security and protection of children at all times
  • Ensure that the legal staff/child ratios are adhered to at all times
  • Promote anti-discrimination practice in ways which are consistent with all legislative frameworks and organisational policy
  • Ensure the health, safety and welfare of the children, staff and visitors at all times
  • Attend meetings at the nursery or off site as required
  • Support systems for the recording of observations, Children’s progress and development in compliance with the data Protection Act
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities which may be required from time to time

Live in nanny/housekeeper for a family with two lovely children aged 6 months and 2 years old. Working days and hours: 5-6 days per week – negotiable, usual live in hours. Days off also negotiable (sometimes they will want to have the children to themselves at the weekend and you will have off, and sometimes they will need you to work, but they are very flexible). They travel a few times per year and they expect you to go with them. Mum is at home at the moment, so its going to be shared care, but also some sole charge. Mum is very hands on at the moment. Duties: take the younger one to and from nursery, doing the grocery shopping, looking after the children, playing with them, prepare meals, and also some light housework required. They have a cleaner. You must be a confident driver and speak good English. They are a young and active family so they are looking for someone similar. Previous Nursery Nurse experience is desirable; applicants must have experience of working with all ages within a childcare setting.
