Nursery Nurses

Nursery Nurses Required for Lambeth and Surrounding Areas

Our client early years centres in Lambeth are looking to develop a bank of nursery nurses to take on roles on a day-to-day and short-term basis. There are also opportunities for long-term positions for the right candidates.

Most of the early years centres you will be working in as a nursery nurse offer full day care for children aged from 0 to 5 years and are open all year except for Bank holidays and a 2 week break at Christmas. The general opening hours for most of our client nurseries are 7.30am to 6.30pm each weekday.

As a nursery nurse you will work alongside other committed early years professionals to provide a happy and secure environment in which each child can develop at his or her own pace. You will help guide children towards the early learning goals as defined in the National Curriculum within a caring atmosphere where a child can learn through play and have freedom of choice of activities. You will also be expected to change nappies.

The successful candidate needs to be lively and full of bright ideas to encourage learning and achieve results. You will need to be keen to develop the children’s personal skills and support them with a range of high quality resources.

The pay rates are negotiable depending on experience.

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:

  • You must be a qualified Nursery Nurse (NVQ 3/NNEB or equivalent)
  • You must have good spoken and written English
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • You must have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a nursery setting
  • Your CV must cover your employment history accurately and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You need to supply two years of references of which at least one must be from a education setting
  • You must be available to work 5 days per week between the hours of 7:30 – 6:30 pm
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB disclosure and overseas police checks

Live-out Nanny Sole and Shared Charge

Nanny required for 2 girls aged 10 years and 6 years, both in full time school, and a baby of 14 months.

Working hours are term-time Monday to Friday 12pm to 7:30pm and holiday time 12pm to 7:30pm 3 days per week and 2 days per week 9am to 7:00pm.

The nanny has full use of a car to and from work and at weekends. Other domestic staff employed.

Live-out Nanny 3 Days per Week

An experienced nanny to care for a boy 11 months and a girl 4 years. SOLE CHARGE. 3 days per week, 8am – 7pm. Girl at school so walking to nearby school in morning and afternoon is required. Driving not necessary. Looking after all aspects of the children’s development, planning activities, preparing meals, arranging playdates. Starting around the end of March or beginning of April.

Maternity Nurse

Family require an experienced maternity nurse for 1st baby due 3rd Feb 2010. Mother will breast feed. Position is live in, 6 day week for 3 weeks.

Nursery Manager Brand New Nursery

This is a fantastic nursery manager role for an experience nursery manager wishing to setup a brand new Nursery.

You will be someone who is keen to put your own stamp on the setting with a focus on delivering outstanding results.

You will have the ability to manage and support all aspects of a new start up nursery.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education
  • To effectively lead and manage the staff team including recruitment and retention
  • To effectively manage the budget and occupancy levels to ensure the nursery is profitable
  • To ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times
  • To Implement an effective parent liaison programme.

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • NNEB, CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge of OFSTED standards and EYFS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities/SENCO etc.
