A primary ASD teacher is required to work in a small community based SEN school located in Hounslow.
An outstanding class teacher is required to work in a KS2 ASD class comprising of 6 pupils. This class includes various levels of abilities ranging from MLD to SLD students. A knowledge of the use of TEACCH, PECs and Makaton, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of how to support the development of language, communication and social skills for ASD pupils is essential for this post. You will be expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum for ASD pupils, and to oversee the work of 2 teaching assistants.
This school offers education to a high number of SEN students aged from early years through to post 16. The school runs very smoothly on a daily basis, providing a purposeful learning environment for all students. The staff and pupils have good relationships with one another and the parents/carers are happy with the level of support available to their children and families.
