This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years Teacher to work with the 3-5 year olds. This is dual position so you will also be the Deputy Manager of this thriving Nursery School.

The Nursery itself is a well run, 50 place setting which boasts great facilities and easy transport links.

You will need to hold a recognised teaching qualification, minimum NVQ4 or higher.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Teaching the 3-5’s in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, staff and other visitors of the nursery
  • To work with the Nursery Manager to deliver the financial budget for the nursery
  • To recruit, manage and develop a competent and effective staff team and play a key part in retaining them
  • To take full responsibility of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager
    • Key responsibilities:
  • To manage and monitor the nursery care and education through playing an active role in the day to day activities and planning in the nursery ensuring childcare knowledge is kept up to date by attending regular training and meetings
  • To demonstrate a sound understanding and knowledge of standards regulated by Ofsted and show the ability to make judgements on nursery performance in these areas
  • To work closely alongside the Health and Safety Coordinator ensuring the nursery environment is safe at all times
  • To market the nursery through regular open days, local community initiatives, updating websites, devising
  • To liaise with other professionals on a regular basis both internal and external to the company
  • To build positive relationships with parents ensuring regular meetings & communications are held.
  • Manage parent’s complaints effectively taking all complaints seriously and recording in accordance with company procedure.
  • Be available and approachable to staff at all times, leading by example and mentoring as necessary
  • Ensure staff have a sound understanding & working practice of all policies and procedures
  • To ensure that a safe, clean, stimulating and well resourced environment is on offer to the children at all times
