Nursery Cook
An exciting opportunity for a Nursery Cook within a lovely Watford Nursery.
The Nursery Cook must have experience of cooking for vulnerable groups, such as Early Years, or the elderly. You will plan and provide a range of nutritious, tasty meals for children under 5, ensuring you meet the various dietary requirements and recognise all significant cultural events in the calendar appropriately, through the food you serve.
You will work with the Nursery manager to plan the menu and order the food, working within strict budgets.
This is a really rewarding post, where you will be able to contribute in a tangible way, to the children’s day and be key in introducing them to new foods and developing healthy eating habits for life.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- To plan, prepare and serve good quality meals for children.
- To manage the kitchen food ordering
- To follow and implement all the policies and procedures set out by the nursery and including all environmental health and safety procedures.
- To work as part of a team
- To ensure confidentiality at all times
You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
- Experience preparing and cooking meals for children aged 3 months to 6 years (Will consider candidates who have provided meals to the elderly)
- Food Hygiene certificate
- Relevant catering qualifications
