A Special Needs School in Redbridge, requires a flexible SEN Teacher to work across phase in their Lower and Middle school. The special school, which is situated near South Woodford tube, has over 150 pupils aged 3-14 with diverse learning difficulties such as Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD ), Moderate Learning Difficulties ( MLD ) and Hearing Impairment. Classes are mixed ability and experience of helping learners to develop at different rates is essential.
In this role you will be supported by a Specialist Teaching assistant, an Advanced Communicator and Senior Teachers where necessary. The governors and senior management of this school place emphasis on character and commitment and expect all members of staff to demonstrate this in all aspects of school life. As such the support staff, who are at the heart of school life, play an essential role in assisting with pupils’ physical needs, including hygiene and feeding. You will need to demonstrate an aptitude for organising the class to benefit most from their help and expertise.
In essence, the school is looking for an excellent SEN classroom practitioner, who can lift the attainment targets and progress of the learners and add to the sense of on going achievement that sets this school apart.
